In Chitwan, authorities have recovered 272 bodies and human remains. Of these, 12 have been identified and returned to families, while 199 unidentified bodies have been temporarily buried after DNA samples were preserved. Nationwide, unidentified remains are being held at 21 hospitals as identification efforts continue. Widespread Destruction The floods have severely damaged homes, roads, bridges, hydropower facilities, businesses and other critical infrastructure, leaving communities isolated and thousands of families in urgent need of assistance.
